Last year my yoga studio, Jivamukti Yoga Sydney (formerly Samadhi Yoga), held their first overseas yoga holiday. They say it was a resounding success and they are delighted to announce that Jivamukti Yoga Sydney will be returning to Bali in June 2011 for another week of yoga, rest and relaxation.

They will be returning to what they describe as the “stunning” Rumah Bali, a bed and breakfast with a difference! It certainly looks a great Bali accommodation option to keep details for:

Rumah Bali, Bed and Breakfast, (http://www.bedandbreakfastbali.com/) located in Tanjung Benoa, is just minutes away from Nusa Dua and a short 100 metres walk away from some of Bali’s best beaches. Nusa Dua is home to gorgeous gardens, spas and from there you can even take a day trip to Ubud. Enjoy the luxury of an authentic Balinese home in spacious air-conditioned rooms with your open-air tropical bathroom. Spend your day around a free flow 23 metre swimming pool, or go for a long walk along one of Bali’s most beautiful beaches.

“The experience was overwhelmingly positive and the group size enabled a practice both challenging and nurturing to all skill levels of the yogis who attended. The people who attended were warm and shared similar yoga focus granting an entirely cathartic event.” Tone (student at Jivamukti Yoga’s first Bali retreat)

The retreat includes:

* 7 nights stay (option of single / double occupancy with no surcharge)

* Two yoga classes per day (one will be a dynamic vinyasa style the other will be more restorative and include meditation / relaxation)

* Airport return transfer

* Sumptuous gourmet breakfast made specifically for you in your villa each day

* Welcome drink and fruit basket on arrival

* A vegetarian Balinese cooking class, which includes a visit to a local market to buy and learn about fresh, seasonal and local produce

* 1 dinner in Bumbu Bali restaurant

COST:

$1500 (if booked before 1st May 2011; $1650 after 1st May)

These prices include all taxes and services. The only other costs would be return airfares and some meals at local prices.

About Katie Manitsas:

Katie Manitsas is a director of Samadhi Yoga, a busy yoga studio in Sydney’s Inner West. Katie is the first Certified Advanced Jivamukti Yoga teacher in Australia and has also studied extensively with the Wise Earth School of Ayurveda under the guidance of Swamini Mayatitananda. Katie grew up in the English countryside surrounded by nature and animals and at the age of ten became a vegetarian; today she is a vegan and along with her business partners opened Earth Vegan Café in Sydney in 2010. Katie’s first yoga teacher, who has now left his body, was an elderly gentleman from the Bahamas who taught classes in the local community centre of the village where she lived. She started attending those classes at twelve years of age and has been doing the best she can to practice yoga ever since. Simon Low from Triyoga was the teacher who encouraged Katie to begin teaching. Katie’s previous books are ‘Spiritual Survival in the City’ and the more recent ‘Yoga Off the Mat’. Katie is mother to three-year-old Christos who sometimes likes to practice yoga but sometimes prefers to ‘fix cars’ with his Dad who is a mechanic. She is also mother to little Ziggy who was born at home. Katie is a trained doula (birth companion).

“I loved Katie’s classes, they were just the most perfect thing. I felt like I had taken my security blanket with me on my little overseas sojourn! I also really enjoyed practicing twice a day and there were revelations in my practice that come from such a regular practice, without it feeling taxing or exhausting. Katie really managed to pitch the classes at the right level each day.” Jess (Jivamukti Yoga student)
